John Nunziati, director of IR, explains the company’s three-way approach to proactive IR.
1. Immediately after earnings calls, Applied Materials sends out associated slides to key contacts and publishes them on its website so they are available for public download.
2. Nunziati says the IR department also hits the road to personally visit investors after earnings calls to go into more specific details about questions they may have.
3. Applied Materials also hosts a number of company-sponsored events. For example, it has begun to hold dinners with key buy-side contacts after its annual shareholder meeting in order to keep investors well informed.
