Andrew Lynch, fund manager at Schroders, discusses the role technology plays in his investment research. He says he uses company websites a lot, and companies with good IR websites are in a strong position when it comes to competition for investment.
Lynch picks out Red Eléctrica and Energas as two companies that make good use of technology to communicate with their shareholders, noting, for example, that they offer simultaneous translations into English during webcasts.
