CapitaLand has won the grand prix for best overall investor relations by a large cap at the IR Magazine South East Asia Awards.
The real estate company also picked up the award for best IR by a CFO – for group finance head Olivier Lim – for the second year in a row.
Harold Woo, senior vice president of IR at CapitaLand, was in attendance to pick up both awards.
The winning companies were revealed at a lunchtime awards event today, which was held at the Singapore stock exchange and attended by around 115 people.
The results were decided by an independent survey of investors and analysts carried out by Thomson Reuters Extel Surveys.
Another double winner on the day was SingTel. The telecommunications company picked up the prizes for best investment meetings and best IR professional for Sin Yang Fong.
Prior to the awards, IR magazine hosted a conference featuring discussions of key IR issues and addresses from expert speakers.
The keynote speech was given by Lawrence Wong, head of listings and executive vice president at the Singapore Exchange, who discussed the expectations of the international investment community.
The conference also featured two presentations of best practice investor relations: the first covered investor meetings and roadshow planning; the second explored how small-cap companies can maximize the value of their IR activities.
Other speakers at the conference included CapitaLand’s Woo, Cameron Tough, head of investor relations at PT Adaro Energy, and Kenny Yap, managing director and executive chairman at Qian Hu.
The conference and awards were hosted in association with BNY Mellon Depositary Receipts, Singapore Exchange and the Investor Relations Professionals Association (Singapore) and were co-sponsored by Extel Surveys, Ipreo, PR Newswire Asia, Standard Chartered Equities and the Wall Street Journal Asia.

Today’s event follows last week’s IR Magazine Greater China Awards, where the big winners were China Mobile, PetroChina, Ping An Insurance and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.
Following the completion of both of IR magazine’s Asia awards events, we are now able to reveal which companies won in a special pan-Asia section of the awards research, which considers the performances of companies throughout the wider region.
In this section, China Mobile was named as having the best overall IR in Asia, while the award for best IR professional went to Mao Zefeng of PetroChina.
Singapore Airlines’ chief executive Chew Choon Seng picked up the pan-Asia award for best IR by a CEO.
