Haemonetics hires Gerry Gould

Haemonetics, the healthcare company specializing in blood management solutions, has hired Gerry Gould as vice president of investor relations. He will report to chief financial officer Christopher Lindop in his new role.

Gould picked up most of his IR experience at Stanley Works (now part of Stanley Black & Decker) and Wyman-Gordon Company, where he spent 12 years and seven years respectively in IR roles. More recently, he spent two years as vice president of IR at RSC Equipment Rental.

Gould’s background is in accountancy. He holds a master’s degree in the subject from the NYU Stern School of Business and, after graduating, worked for eight years in audit at Ernst & Young.

He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and French from Saint Michael’s College.

‘It is a great pleasure to welcome Gerry to Haemonetics,’ comments Lindop in a statement. ‘He is a seasoned IR professional with a wealth of experience gained over his long career working with Wall Street.

‘We look forward to working with Gerry to continue Haemonetics long tradition of transparency and accountability to our investors while benefiting from his past experiences and existing investor relationships.’

Gould takes over the IR responsibilities from Bryanne Salmon, Haemonetic’s senior executive assistant to the CEO, CFO and now Gould as well.

Salmon looked after most of the company’s IR needs during the 18 months since the previous IRO left, Gould explains in an email.

Braintree, Massachusetts-based Haemonetics develops products to help with the collection and processing of blood.

On August 1, the NYSE-listed company reported lower first quarter profits and cut its guidance for the rest of the year. Its earnings have been hit by a recall of its blood collecting device OrthoPAT.
