Two Harbors hires Battist

Two Harbors Investment has brought in Christine Battist as managing director responsible for IR and financial communications.

Battist joins from the Mosaic Company, where she held the role of director of IR. Prior to her IR position, Battist was Mosaic’s director of financial compliance, and before that she held the role of director of internal audit at Tuesday Morning.

Like many other IROs, Battist’s background is in audit. She began her career at PwC and spent 10 years there working on audits for public companies, mainly in the retail and manufacturing sectors.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wisconsin’s St Norbert College.

‘Christine is a consummate IR professional with extensive finance and communications credentials,’ comments Thomas Siering, CEO of Two Harbors, in a statement.

‘She brings a stellar track record of strategic execution and financial acumen that will be a great asset to our company as we seek to accelerate our investor relations program and build visibility for Two Harbors in both the mortgage industry and US capital markets.’

Minnetonka, Minnesota-based Two Harbors is a real estate investment trust listed on the NYSE.

In July, the trust raised $484 mn in a public offering of common stock. It says it plans to use the funds to made new acquisitions of mortgage-backed securities and other financial assets, as well as for other general corporate purposes.
