Matt Hotson, former IR and corporate finance director at Cable & Wireless, will be joining UK insurance group RSA in September as investor relations director.
Hotson is a natural sciences graduate from Cambridge and the Open University, where he gained an MA in pharmacology and an MSc in neuropharmacology respectively.
He has extensive knowledge of the insurance industry, having spent 14 years at Legal & General, including three years as group strategy director and two as director for investor relations and strategy.
Hotson then joined Cable & Wireless in 2011, initially to manage IR and corporate affairs, later taking charge of IR and corporate finance.
RSA, formerly Royal & Sun Alliance group, has been operating in the UK since 1710. The company has 17 mn customers in 140 countries, generating 60 per cent of its business internationally.
The group is seeking to broaden its shareholder base, which is currently mainly UK-centric.
