Joshua Young has been appointed by Bruker Corporation to serve as vice president of investor relations. He replaces Stacey Desrochers, Bruker’s IRO and treasurer of five years, who is moving on to focus full time on the company’s global treasury operations.
Young is a graduate of Syracuse University and holds an MBA from Boston College. He started his career within Genome Therapeutics’ IR team in 1997.
A year later, he was hired by Aspen Technology, where he set up the IR and corporate communications function and also worked in the finance and corporate development departments.
In 2005 he was appointed by bioscience company Millipore to serve as director of investor relations, and was later promoted to global head of IR after the firm’s acquisition by German pharmaceuticals and chemicals major Merck in 2010.
From 2007 to 2010, he was also an adjunct professor of communications at Boston University.
Billerica, Massachusetts–based Bruker has been listed on NASDAQ since 2000 and employs 6,000 people globally. The company posted $1.3 bn in revenue for the first nine months in 2012, a year-on-year increase of 8.3 percent, and $64.7 mn in net profit, up from $53.2 mn for the same period in 2011.
