Zurich Insurance Group has appointed UK-born James Quin to serve as head of investor relations and rating agency management, based at the company’s headquarters in Zurich. Quin will replace Debra Broek, who joined the firm in 2007 as CFO for the global life division. His new role reporting to CFO Pierre Wauthier will commence on July 1, 2013.
A chartered accountant, Quin graduated from the University of Bristol with a bachelor of law degree. He spent 10 years in his early career working for PwC in London and New York on auditing and financial projects for insurance clients.
In 2000 he was hired by Lehman Brothers to serve as managing director within the equity research department, moving on five years later to head the European insurance equity research team at Citigroup. He subsequently rejoined PwC where he has been a partner since 2011 in the capital markets, accounting advisory and structuring group.
Commenting on the appointment in a company press release, Wauthier says: ‘James has in-depth knowledge and experience in the insurance industry, having spent more than 20 years in equity research and advisory roles and he is highly regarded within the investor community. I very much look forward to welcoming him to the team.’
