Bonamy joins Publicis

Jean-Michel Bonamy has joined Publicis Groupe to serve as vice president of IR and strategic financial planning, succeeding head of IR Martine Hue, who is retiring.

A seasoned media sector professional and former equity analyst with both sell-side and buy-side experience, Bonamy was most recently deputy CFO responsible for IR, planning, budget and group controlling at mass media major Vivendi.

After graduating in finance from the University of Reading and the Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, he started his career at CCF Securities, now part of HSBC, subsequently working at Crédit Agricole Asset Management (now Amundi) and CA Cheuvreux. Prior to joining Vivendi in 2008, he was co-head of European media research at Goldman Sachs, based in London.

‘First of all, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to Martine,’ says CFO Jean-Michel Etienne in a press release. ‘She has made significant contributions to the strength of Publicis Groupe’s investor relations over the last eight years. I am very pleased that Jean-Michel Bonamy will be joining us as we approach this new phase of developing Publicis Groupe’s relations with its investors.’

Publicis IR team member Stéphanie Constand-Atellian will be staying on as IRO, Bonamy tells IR Magazine. ‘Our main challenge and objective will be to continue Martine’s good work of explaining Publicis’ new business model to the markets. The firm has evolved from being a pure communications advisory into a more hybrid business where the technological component plays an essential role,’ he says, defining the CAC 40 constituent as ‘a consultancy in digital transformation’.
