Russian telecoms firm VimpelCom has announced that Gerbrand Nijman, who has lead the IR program for the past four years, has taken over as CFO at subsidiary Global Telecom Holding.
The Amsterdam-headquartered company, which operates in 14 countries under various brand names and has IR teams spread across four cities, has named Bart Morselt as the new group head of investor relations.
Morselt – previously head of IR at Swisscom – will take up his position on September 1 and will report to group CFO Andrew Davies. The University of Groningen MSc economics and finance graduate was with the Swiss telecoms company for almost 15 years and held several board memberships in Swisscom group companies as well as in the Swiss IR society.
Nijman moved to Global Telecom last month. The VimpelCom subsidiary operates mobile networks in high growth markets across Africa and Asia, including the Djezzy brand in Algeria, Mobilink in Pakistan and Banglalink in Bangladesh.
