NIRI president and CEO Jim Cudahy steps down

Jim Cudahy has resigned his position as president and CEO of NIRI to ‘pursue other professional interests,’ the organization has announced.

NIRI will begin the search for a new chief executive with vice presidents Matt Brusch and Mike McGough serving in the interim, as they did during the previous CEO transition following the departure of Jeff Morgan in 2014.

‘Under Jim’s leadership, NIRI took a significant leap forward in advancing our profession as we launched the first global certification program for investor relations,’ says NIRI chair Felise Kissell, vice president of IR at HSN in a statement. The first 61 IRC recipients were honored at NIRI’s annual conference in San Diego earlier this month following exams in March.

‘We thank Jim for his efforts in helping launch our IR certification program, and wish him the very best,’ continues Kissell, speaking to IR Magazine. ‘Our board is now forming a search committee and will work with Korn Ferry to fill this position.

‘But as I’ve spoken with colleagues about this transition, it is clear NIRI is more than just one person. NIRI is corporate IR professionals, IR counselors, service provider partners, chapters, volunteers, staff, [and more]. NIRI is about our community. And so we will embrace this moment of change, and use it as an opportunity to come together, celebrate our community, and chart our collective course. It is so reassuring to know we have the support of all our colleagues as we take the next step in driving NIRI’s success.’
