The short list for the people’s choice award for innovation at the IR Magazine Awards – Canada has been announced.
This new award will be presented to a publicly listed company that has made an outstanding contribution to the practice of IR and the community of IR professionals. While the rest of the IR Magazine Awards are determined by a survey of investor professionals, the people’s choice award for innovation is decided by public vote.
The three short-listed companies are:
- Fortis – for managing an exciting listing at the NYSE in 2016
- Vermilion Energy – for successful IR during the recent commodity price downturn
- WSP Global – for its innovative approach to corporate and sustainability reporting

The gala dinner for the IR Magazine Awards – Canada will take place on February 2, 2017. It remains the Canadian IR community’s largest annual gathering and will be an evening of unforgettable celebration and networking for investor relations officers along with their senior management teams, advisers and analysts.
For the last quarter-century, the IR Magazine Awards have honored excellence in investor relations around the world. Across North America tens of thousands of analysts and investors have cast their votes and given their opinions in our investment community surveys.
In recent years the awards program has expanded to recognize more aspects of investor relations, particularly the contributions of senior management, as well as to identify the best IR by sector.
