Vanessa Pickering is the new manager of investor relations at Canada-based Orezone Gold Corporation, an exploration and development company.
Patrick Downey, the firm’s president and CEO, says in a statement that Pickering is now responsible for all IR activities with the aim of increasing market awareness of the company. In addition, she will work closely with members of the management team and be responsible for initiating and maintaining contact with the financial community, shareholders, investors and other stakeholders, he adds.
Pickering, who has more than 15 years of experience in the exploration and mining industry working with several Canadian public companies in various IR roles, was most recently manager of corporate communications and development at IDM Mining until its acquisition in March 2019.
Prior to this, she worked with ATAC Resources for more than seven years as manager of corporate communications. Before that, she managed corporate communications at Laurentian Goldfields and StrataGold Corporation.
‘Vanessa is known for her transparent communications, is well respected in the mining and financial community and will play a key role going forward as the company continues to advance its Bomboré gold project,’ says Downey in the statement.
