ESG Integration Forum – US: Key sessions

The 2022 ESG Integration Forum – US, hosted by IR Magazine and online sister publication Corporate Secretary, is back in New York City next week for two days.

The in-person event will convene IR professionals, governance professionals and ESG subject matter experts to get a glimpse of how the ESG movement is evolving and how companies can keep up with regulations and cope with the current backlash, as well as much more.

The agenda kicks off on December 1 with a look at high-level ESG priorities for investors as we approach 2023 and expert advice on how to turn ESG goals into strategies and policies into practice.

Panelists will also share their views with IROs, governance and sustainability teams on the impact that new SEC climate proposals will have on their roles. With a focus on regulations, one of the sessions will further consider the SEC’s priorities for 2023, how companies can think strategically for the year ahead and what impact regulations abroad might have on US firms.

Participating in the regulatory session will be Curtis Ravenel, founding member of the Financial Stability Board’s (FSB) TCFD secretariat.

As the ESG movement gains momentum, so does its counter-movement. The agenda includes a conversation on how IR and governance teams at publicly listed companies can address the backlash and deal with the heavy politicization of the ESG movement.

For the first time, the event will also explore the nexus between biodiversity and climate and the evolving role of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosure with suggestions on how companies can take a holistic approach to the E in the ESG acronym.

To cap the first day, attendees will also have an opportunity to engage in a roundtable conversation with their peers.

December 2 sees the conclusion of the forum, with sessions on cyber-security risks, executive pay and geopolitical challenges as well as the evolving roles of ESG rating agencies. IROs and corporate executives will also have the opportunity to ask investors questions on how their ESG-related needs are changing and what their approach is in a bearish market.

Top speakers confirmed to join us at the forum include:

  • Sarah Hughes, head of ESG and sustainable investing, American Century Investments
  • Jennifer Motles, chief sustainability officer, PMI
  • Curtis Ravenel, founding member, FSB TCFD secretariat
  • Alison Sternberg, senior vice president of investor relations, fuboTV
