Scott has a multifaceted Strategy role within Citi’s Research department. He is Head of US Equity Strategy, as well as Global Head of ETF Research. He has also led US Small/Mid Cap Strategy at Citi. He has been publishing on Large Cap US Equity strategy since October 2021, a variety of ETF strategies/themes/ topics since September 2012, and US SMID Cap strategy since 2010. In addition, he contributes to Citi’s global strategy calls.
His depth of experience in the Equity markets has provided a unique skill set for developing broader market, ETF, and Small/Mid Cap views.
Prior to moving to Citi Research in 2010, Scott spent six years as Small/Mid Cap product manager and specialist within Citi Global Markets. Related, he was instrumental in designing and implementing Citi’s Small/Mid Cap cross platform initiative, which was launched in 2004.
Scott also managed Citi’s West Coast Institutional Equity team from 2000 until 2010. Not only was the team responsible for significant revenue generation during this time frame, it was consistently ranked top tier versus broader street competition.
Scott brings 40 years of experience in Institutional Equity-related activities. He has covered asset managers across all size and style approaches to the global equity markets.
After entering the business with Smith Barney (predecessor to Citi Global Markets) in 1983, Scott worked at First Boston and Drexel Burnham from 1985 through 1989 before rejoining Smith Barney in 1990, where he was a top ranked institutional sales person for nearly two decades. He graduated from Dartmouth College (Government) in 1978 and UCLA’s Graduate School of Management (Finance/Marketing) in 1980.
