Christina Maguire compares governance to a three-legged stool. For Maguire, executive compensation is a key lever within governance: ‘When the company does well, we as shareholders do well and our clients see their 401k numbers rise; that’s our main goal. But when issuers perform poorly, we want management teams to share the economic pain that we as shareholders on behalf of our clients feel.’
