S2 Capital taps Patrick Connell as investor relations lead

S2 Capital, a private investment firm, has appointed Patrick Connell as head of IR and capital formation and will be based in the newly created New York office. S2 Capital specializes in value-add properties with about $10 bn in transaction volume.

Connell will spearhead fundraising initiatives and manage the firm’s relationships with institutional investors across global markets. In his previous roles, he helped raise joint venture capital with large institutional investors. He brings a depth of knowledge in raising capital across private equity, infrastructure and credit investment vehicles, S2 says in a statement.

Managed institutional investors

Prior to joining S2, Connell was managing director and head of capital raising at L&L Holding Company, where he was responsible for raising $1.8 bn in joint ventures and strategic partnerships over the last four years.

Connell spent almost seven years as principal of fundraising and investor relations at Riverstone Holdings where he held a senior position within the limited partner relations team. He was responsible for raising $15 bn in capital across several private real asset funds and credit funds. He also maintained and managed relationships with institutional investors including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations and family offices during his time at Riverstone Holdings.

‘It’s exciting to join S2 at a time when there are many interesting opportunities on the horizon,’ Connell says. ‘Institutional investors are actively looking to partner with experienced management teams with vertically integrated operations and high growth potential and S2 fits this profile to an exceptional degree.’

Scott Everett, chief executive and founder of S2 Capital, says he is confident Connell will strengthen existing client bonds. ‘His expertise in institutional capital raising will help us pursue promising new opportunities and invest more effectively on a larger scale.’
