People moves: Fresh IR faces at Eversource Energy and RHB Bank

Affryll Teo, a frequent speaker at IR Magazine’s events in South East Asia, has moved to a new role at Malaysian financial services company RHB Bank.

Having previously served as head of IR, sustainability and M&A at Malaysian insurer Tune Protect, Teo is now responsible for managing and leading RHB’s business planning, budgeting and strategic review alongside regular IR activities. Prior to Tune Protect, he served as vice president of business performance and IR at Ambank.

In the US, Boston, Massachusetts-headquartered Eversource Energy has brought in Rima Hyder as its new vice president of investor relations.

Previously, Hyder served as vice president of investor relations at industrial technology firm Crane NXT and held other IR roles at Sportradar, FactSet, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Energy Future Holdings. She began her finance career in the utility industry at Exelon Corporation in various roles.

‘I’m honored to join New England’s largest energy delivery company and leader in clean energy to help ensure an equitable, cost-effective energy transition that maximizes benefits for customers, communities and other key stakeholders,’ Ryder says of her new role.

‘I am excited to have the opportunity to return to the energy industry [that] helped to shape my career and I look forward to working alongside the talented and experienced team at Eversource to communicate the execution of a successful growth strategy that also strives to responsibly achieve decarbonization goals for the region.’

Elsewhere, Nasdaq-listed energy firm Evergy has announced the appointment of Bryan Buckler as its new executive vice president and CFO, effective October 1.

Buckler will join the Kansas-based company from OGE Energy, the parent company of regulated energy firm OG&E, where he also served as CFO. Prior to that, he was vice president of investor relations for Duke Energy, where he worked for more than 14 years.

‘We are very excited to have Bryan Buckler join our Evergy team,’ says David Campbell, chairman and CEO. ‘Along with his strong track record as a chief financial officer, Bryan brings a wealth of experience through prior stints in accounting, treasury, FP&A and investor relations in his career.’

Finally, Rhian Powell has started a new position in the IR team at Burberry, moving into a new role of investor relations analyst after serving as IR co-ordinator for two years.

During her time at the UK luxury fashion house, Burberry’s IR team won the award for best investor targeting strategy at the IR Magazine Awards – Europe 2024.
