Broadcom made a conscious decision to overhaul its investor relations after Eric Brandt joined as CFO in 2007 and brought in as head of IR Chris Zegarelli, formerly of Qualcomm and Intel.
In 2012 Broadcom’s slick IR operation won it a top 10 spot in the IR Magazine US Top 100 and three awards: the grand prix for best overall IR program – mid-cap, best IR by a CFO – mid-cap, and best IR in sector – technology (mid & small-cap companies).
