Luiz Fernando Rolla, CFO and head of investor relations at Cemig, the R$31 bn Brazilian energy utility, talks about how IR is integral to his company’s strategy in this interview following the IR Magazine Brazil Awards 2012 in São Paulo. Cemig won best investment community meetings — large-cap, best conference call and best IR in the energy & utilities sector. Rolla, who is president of IBRI, Brazil’s investor relations association, also talks about how Cemig’s IR program paved the way for younger Brazilian companies, for example by helping introduce them to the US capital market.
