CA Cheuvreux wins big in SRI survey

Results from the 2012 Socially Responsible Investing & Sustainability survey organized by Thomson Reuters Extel and the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association have been announced.

French brokerage company CA Cheuvreux stands out, topping the rankings for leading brokerage firm for SRI & sustainability overall, leading brokerage firm for corporate governance research and leading brokerage firm for SRI roadshows.

It also achieves two runner-up positions for leading brokerage firm for SRI research and leading brokerage firm for integrated research on climate change.

CA Cheuvreux’s Robert Walker and Erwan Crehalet are also distinguished, with Walker topping the individual’s category for corporate governance research and Crehalet named runner-up in the individual’s category for integrated research on climate change.

Bank of America Securities – Merrill Lynch follows closely, scoring two victories as leading brokerage firm for SRI research and leading brokerage firm for thematic research, as well as three runner-up positions for SRI & sustainability overall, renewable energy research and SRI roadshows.

Analyst Sarj Nahal is named leading individual for SRI research, and Valery Lucas-Leclin is twice runner-up for leading individual for thematic research and leading individual for SRI research.

More than 500 finance professionals from both the buy side and the sell side in 27 different countries were surveyed this year, generating a record number of companies and individuals nominated.

This reflects the growing interest in SRI within the European financial sphere. Indeed, more than two thirds of investment companies advocate the integration of environmental, social and governance research into general analysis.

Other highly ranked companies in the survey include UBS, Macquarie, HSBC, Unilever and Hermes Fund Managers.
