General Moly, the Colorado-based mining company, has announced the hiring of a new IR director.
Scott Kozak has joined the company following the departure of Seth Foreman, formerly director of IR and business development, who has moved on to be vice president of corporate development at gold and silver producer Vista Gold.
Kozak graduated with a dual degree in economics and international relations from American University in Washington, DC and earned a certificate in finance from the University of California, Berkeley. He gained an MS in communications from Northwestern University in 2012.
Kozak worked as a financial reporting analyst at investment adviser Hall Capital Management from 2000 to 2003, moving on to be a financial planning and analysis associate at RMC Capital Management for a year.
He joined FTI Consulting, an IR advisory firm, in 2004, staying on for six years and rising to the position of vice president of investor relations.
In 2011 he was hired by InnerWorkings, a print management solutions provider, to manage IR, marketing and communications.
Commenting on Kozak’s appointment, General Moly CEO Bruce Hansen says, ‘We are pleased to have Scott join the General Moly team. He has significant financial markets expertise and has worked extensively for a number of mining companies in a consulting capacity. I am confident Scott will be a valuable contributor in advancing General Moly’s dialogue with the investment community.’
General Moly specializes in the exploration and mining of molybdenum, a metallic element used primarily as an alloy in steel manufacturing and as a chemical agent in the petroleum refining process.
The company is focused on two mines located in Central Nevada and aims to become the world’s largest pure-play molybdenum producer.
