Xinergy appoints Robert Gaylor as senior vice president of IR

TSX-listed Xinergy, a coal producer based in Tennessee, has appointed Robert Gaylor as senior vice president of investor relations, based at the company’s headquarters in Knoxville.

Gaylor joins from Miller Energy Resources, an oil and natural gas company, where he had served as senior vice president of investor relations since 2010.

A graduate and now board member of the University of Tennessee, Taylor made a colorful start to his career, playing professional baseball for several years before moving into finance. He served as an investment adviser at Morgan Keegan & Company, before joining his family-owned business, Power Equipment Company, as senior vice president, until its merger with Bramco in 1998.

Prior to joining Miller Energy, Taylor was senior vice president at Trust First, where he raised more than $150 mn in capital for private and public companies from 2001 until 2010.

With two mines currently idle, Xinergy has recently acquired the Sewell Mountain Coal mid-volume metallurgical property in southern West Virginia. It is currently in the planning and development stage, and making progress toward additional reserve acquisition.
