Best IR teams from around the world revealed at Global IR Forum

The winners of the first Global Top 50 Awards have been revealed at the Global IR Forum in New York, with Germany’s BASF taking the top spot.

In second place is Covidien, with Cole Lannum, vice president of IR at the global healthcare firm, also winning an individual award for Global Top IRO. Runners-up for the accolade are Rolf Woller from Continental (Germany), Oliver Stratmann, head of IR at Lanxess (Germany) and Jeffrey Chastain, from Noble Corporation in the US.

After BASF and Covidien, the remaining top five spots are taken by Intel (US), Lanxess (Germany) and China Telecom (China).

Three individual awards were handed out: Global Top Small Cap (<$5 bn) and Global Top Mid-Cap ($5 bn–$10 bn), as well as the Global Top IRO award.

Lanxess beat contenders including Agile Property (China), Kroton (Brazil) and Pacific Basin Shipping (Hong Kong) to take home the Global Top Small Cap award, while China Resources Enterprise (Hong Kong) won the Global Top Mid-Cap category. Lenovo (China), Natura (Brazil) and Wyndham Worldwide (US) are runners-up.

The Global Top 50, in partnership with BNY Mellon, was calculated based on IR Magazine’s annual surveys of investors and analysts for its awards in the US, Canada, Europe, Greater China, South East Asia and Brazil.

Last night’s awards ceremony is part of the three-day Global IR Forum presented by IR Magazine and NIRI, held in New York on November 18-20. Event highlights include industry roundtables, regional targeting workshops and a vendor showcase.
