Lannum to leave top IR role at Mallinckrodt

Cole Lannum, senior vice president of investor strategy at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, is leaving the company due to personal reasons, the company has confirmed.

‘Cole is with us for some weeks in a transitional period,’ a company spokesperson tells IR Magazine. Daniel Speciale, currently director of IR at Mallinckrodt, will be promoted to fill the lead IR role for the company. ‘[Daniel] has been supporting investor relations for the past 18 months and is well prepared to step into this position,’ the company spokesperson adds.

Highly regarded in the industry, in 2015 at the IR Magazine Awards – US, Lannum picked up the award for best investor relations officer at a large cap for the fifth year running.

His time in IR totals nearly 25 years. Before joining Mallinckrodt in 2015, he led investor relations at Covidien and Tyco. Prior to holding those roles, Lannum filled investment leadership posts at Putnam Investments, Boatmen’s Trust and American Express Asset Management – both now part of Columbia Asset Management.

A part-time actor, Lannum has starred in minor roles on US TV shows Modern Family, Orange is the new black, Dexter and the 2011 Ben Stiller film Tower Heist. He is also an associate producer on the forthcoming Burt Reynolds’ film The last movie star
