China Unicom wins big at IR Magazine Awards – Greater China

Telecommunications company China Unicom (Hong Kong) took away three gongs at the IR Magazine Awards – Greater China, held in Hong Kong last Friday, winning the big-hitting best overall investor relations for a large cap, the communications sector award and the best IR in Hong Kong award.

There were several double award winners, among them China Resources Beer, which won for best corporate governance & disclosure and best IR in the consumer staples sector, and Anta Sports Products, which won awards for most progress in IR and best IR in the consumer discretionary sector.

Also on the double-winner list was China Telecom, with Lisa Lai winning the large-cap best investor relations officer gong and the company taking the best IR website award.

The award for best overall IR for a small to mid-cap company was won by Hong Kong conglomerate Dah Chong Hong.

Cheng Lei from Anton Oilfield Services Group/Hong Kong took the best investor relations officer award in the small to mid-cap category. And the rising star award went to Kenneth Ke of China New Higher Education (2001.HK).

In the awards by region, Alibaba Group won for best IR in China and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company won for best IR in Taiwan. The company also took the best crisis management award, making it another double winner.
