Jennifer Como named as IR lead for Visa as predecessor takes external CFO role

Visa has appointed Jennifer Como, who currently serves as senior vice president of IR at the payment giant, to the position of head of investor relations. Como has been promoted to succeed Mike Milotich who, after 10 years in various financial roles at Visa, is leaving the company.

Como joined Visa in 2019 after a near 20-year career across financial services in the payments, banking, insurance and brokerage sectors, according to a statement announcing her appointment. A Yale University MBA graduate, she has held roles in corporate finance, communications, strategy and investor relations.

‘Jennifer is a proven leader with deep knowledge of Visa’s model and the trends driving our business,’ says Vasant Prabhu, vice chair and CFO. ‘She will continue to be a valuable partner to our analysts and investors.’

Milotich, who was appointed IR lead at Visa in 2018, has taken the position of CFO at card-issuer Marqeta, effective February 22. ‘Having spent the last 10 years at Visa, I had a front-row seat for the rise of Marqeta and the innovations it has opened up globally with its modern card-issuing platform,’ he says in a Marqeta statement.

He brings with him more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, the majority of which falls in payments and financial services with leadership positions at American Express and PayPal as well as his experience at Visa.

‘After spending time with Jason [Gardner, Marqeta’s founder and CEO] and the executive team, I was impressed by both how well they’d scaled to date and the massive opportunity in global money movement that lies ahead of them,’ Milotich says.
