People moves: BD, Lincoln Financial Group and Vale tap new IR leaders

It has been a busy week for IR career appointments: the Middle East Investor Relations Association has appointed Paolo Casamassima as its new CEO and Amsterdam banking giant ING has named veteran banker Sjoerd Miltenburg as its new head of investor relations.

This week has also seen Becton Dickinson and Company, a global medical technology firm, name Greg Rodetis, currently senior vice president and treasurer, to the additional position of head of investor relations. In his new role, Rodetis takes ownership of communicating the progress of the company’s strategy to investors and the financial community, including its initiatives to drive shareholder value.

He reports to Chris DelOrefice, executive vice president and chief financial officer of BD. Rodetis has been with the company since 2016 when he joined as vice president and assistant treasurer for capital markets.

Bringing 30 years’ experience

Insurance company Lincoln Financial Group has announced Tina Madon as its senior vice president and head of investor relations. She reports to Chris Neczypor, executive vice president and chief financial officer.

In her new position, Madon also becomes part of the company’s corporate leadership group. She brings more than 30 years of financial services experience, having worked on strategic finance initiatives and IR programs at an array of financial institutions.

Madon previously held the role of senior vice president and head of investor relations and corporate communications at Focus Financial Partners, where she developed the firm’s investor relations program as the first pureplay, publicly traded company in the independent wealth management sector.

Invaluable lessons

Thiago Lofiego has taken on a new role as director of IR and joint ventures at Brazilian mining company Vale. He joins Vale from banking group Bradesco BBI, where he was managing director for the past four years.

In a message on LinkedIn about his career change, Lofiego says: ‘I had a lot of fun leading and publishing impactful reports [at Bradesco] like upgrades and downgrades, contributing to IPOs and follow-ons and being listed in the Institutional Investor rankings.

‘More importantly, however, I was able to make lifelong friends and learned invaluable lessons, which will stay with me forever. I would like to thank all my colleagues, clients and friends for being part of this amazing journey.’
