The Polish company appeared on two IR Impact Award shortlists at this year’s Europe awards
Many IR professionals may have found themselves working at companies they have a deep personal interest in. For Karolina Gnas, head of IR at the Polish video game developer CD Projekt, this means that she gets to enjoy the studio’s greatest hits – which include mega-hits The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 – with her investment community, as well as brush up on her adventuring skills during office hours.
Working for a company with such popular brands – The Witcher 3 has sold more than 60 mn copies worldwide in its 10-year lifespan – also brings with it an extra degree of scrutiny, both from the investment community and the general public. For Gnas, that means the role can bring added stresses, such as when Cyberpunk 2077 had a troubled launch in 2020, or when CD Projekt announced the main character of its upcoming Witcher 4 title would feature a new, female protagonist.
