Top IR teams and individuals will be recognized at gala awards event in London this June
Spanish energy company Iberdrola and Swiss-based office operator International Workplace Group (IWG) are the frontrunners at this year’s IR Impact Awards – Europe, with both firms appearing across five shortlists.
The continent’s leading IR practitioners will gather to celebrate their achievements at a black-tie gala dinner at the Peninsula London on Thursday, June 18.
Iberdrola, which won three awards at last year’s event, will be hoping to pick up trophies for best innovation in shareholder communications, best investor targeting strategy, best IR impact (large cap), best sell-side management (large cap) and best use of technology including AI.
Meanwhile IWG is up for both the best overall investor relations (mid-cap) and best investor relations officer (mid-cap) for head of IR Richard Manning, alongside three other categories.
Six other companies – Infineon Technologies, Technip Energies, Banco Santander, Aydem Yenilenebilir Enerji, Kenmare Resources and Unilever – are shortlisted across four categories each.
Infineon is one of the six firms vying for the crown of best overall investor relations (large cap), alongside ASML, Rheinmetall, Sandoz Group, Sanofi and Subsea 7.
Alongside IWG in the mid-cap category are AAK, Aperam, Asseco Poland, Salzgitter and Technip Energies. For the small-cap category, one of Akenerji Elektrik Üretim, Applied Nutrition, Ceres Power Holdings, CTT – Correios de Portugal, eDreams ODIGEO or GCP Infrastructure Investments will emerge victorious.

Europe’s IR teams and professionals will contend two different kinds of awards categories on the night itself, each celebrating the success of those leading the way in IR across Europe.
For our researched categories, companies do not submit nominations. Instead, hundreds of analysts and investors cast their votes and give their opinions on which companies provide the best IR service.
In our nominated categories, companies submit written entries to articulate their success and achievements from the past year, giving any publicly listed company the opportunity to be considered for an award.
The winners of this latter set of categories are determined by our panel of expert judges, who comprise:
- Lorna Davie, president, IR Club Schweiz
- Heinrich Ey, director, co-CIO German and European mid/small caps, Allianz Global Investors
- Simon Gleadhill, head of corporate, ESG and IFRS report, Howden Joinery Group
- Stefanie Mollin, industry analyst, Bloomberg Intelligence
- Gervais Williams, head of equities, Premier Miton Investors
- Stephen Yiu, managing partner and chief investment officer, Blue Whale Growth Fund
- Laurie Havelock, editor, IR Impact.
