Two Harbors Investment Corporation, a Maryland-based real estate investment trust, has appointed July Hugen as director of investor relations. She replaces Christine Battist, formerly managing director of investor relations at the company.
Battist is moving on to be chief financial officer of Silver Bay Realty Trust, a property development company managed by Pine River Capital Management that has recently filed for an IPO. The new CEO at Silver Bay is David Miller, previously a managing director for business development at Two Harbors.
Hugen is a finance and management graduate of the Labovitz School of Business and Economics of the University of Minnesota Duluth.
She started her career in 2006 at Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis, first as a research analyst for the retail sector and subsequently as an equity analyst covering building products, retail and pharmaceuticals.
In 2009 she joined Two Harbors’ adviser Pine River, to serve as marketing and investor relations manager, overseeing relationships with hedge fund investors.
Hugen is a NIRI member and a board member of the Midwest Committee of Hope for non-profit organization Hedge Funds Care.
