Dr Sebastian Tideman
Sebastian Tideman is a tenure-track assistant professor in accounting at Syracuse University. His research focuses on analyzing non- and semi-structured reporting data in the intersection of financial accounting and ESG issues.
Tideman’s work has been published in leading academic journals such as The Accounting Review, the Strategic Management Journal and the European Accounting Review plus media outlets including Forbes, The Academic Minute and WAMC.
He studied at the University of Bremen, Germany (BSc) and the University College Dublin, Ireland (BSc). He obtained his PhD in accounting from the University of Bremen, Germany. Before joining Syracuse University, Tideman was a lecturer/assistant professor at the University of Exeter and Royal Holloway, University of London (both UK), a postdoc at the Universities of Oldenburg and Hamburg (both Germany) and a visiting researcher at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Georgia), Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics (Ukraine), Macau University of Science and Technology (Macau/China), Telavi Iakob Gogebashvili State University (Georgia), Grigol Robakidze University (Tbilisi, Georgia), Bocconi University (Milan, Italy), the University of Luxembourg as well as Syracuse University (US).
