Worldwide expertise: Introducing the IR Magazine editorial board

A few weeks ago – before the excitement of our Europe Awards – we made a quiet but important announcement: IR Magazine has reintroduced its editorial board, revamped with fresh faces for 2024.

Today, I’m delighted to formally introduce you to the 12 seasoned IR professionals who make up this advisory body, packed with experts from across the world, representing various companies spanning different sectors and market capitalization.

You’ll be hearing from them more and more in the coming weeks, but they all have one thing very much in common: a passion for pursuing excellence in the profession and sharing best practices with our readers.

Actually, they have another thing in common: they all are generous with their time and happy to be badgered by me and my editorial colleagues on a regular basis.

There’ll be a few things our editorial board help us out with at IR Magazine. Primarily, they will serve as our eyes and ears across the regions we cover in detail – Europe, North America, South America, Greater China and South East Asia – and advise our writers about the key themes, trends and issues facing IROs there.

Secondly, they will be appearing across our deep dive features, podcasts and videos in the coming months. Many may take up their pens to write columns for us, too. Some already have: Ricardo Jiménez Hernández recently wrote about the opportunities and risks for IR around an IPO, Müge Yücel tackled how to be an effective leader and Marina Calero penned a special newsletter for us on International Women’s Day earlier this year.

Thirdly, they are tasked with ensuring IR Magazine succeeds in its mission to help promote best practice and nurture discussion across the IR profession.

There’s also a secret fourth duty, which is to stop me writing obsessively about football in my weekly newsletter.

Many of the editorial board members are former IR Magazine Award winners, while some have had experience leading or representing local trade bodies such as NIRI or CIRI. Others may be new to you, however. That’s why we’ve asked them some quickfire questions – some IR-related, others not – to get to know them a little better.

You can read Thomas Kudsk Larsen’s answers here – where he discloses his thwarted aspiration to work in shipping – and read Nicole Chen’s answers here, in which she reveals her second career as a children’s author.

The full, 12-strong list of the IR Magazine editorial board is:

  • Adam Borgatti, senior vice president of corporate development and IR at Aecon
  • Marina Calero, host of the IRO Coffee Break network and most recently head of IR at Hyve
  • Nicole Chen, head of IR at CapitaLand China Trust
  • David de la Roz Fernandez, director of IR at eDreams ODIGEO
  • Ricardo Jiménez Hernández, strategic adviser at Harmon and a former director of IR at Ferrovial
  • Thomas Kudsk Larsen, global head of IR at Sanofi
  • Cole Lannum, acting CFO at MDVisit
  • Jeannie Ong, board member at Aetrial Health and regular judge at the IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia

  • Lynn Antipas Tyson, executive director of IR at Ford
  • André Vasconcellos, vice president of the board at the Brazilian Institute of Investor Relations

If you have any questions or concerns you’d like to put to our editorial board, please do let us know – either via LinkedIn or at [email protected].
