Alex Hughes

Alex has a background in digital media leading creative teams in the early 90’s across the industry at digital agency Deepend, ITV Network and MTV Networks Europe. He worked on early iterations of itv.com, and enhanced TV for shows PopStars and The Brit Awards, winning SKY interactive MTV Europe Music Awards 2001. 
In 2007 he co-founded Amigo, offering creative technology services with data driven content that powered MediaWalls for clients such as PwC, EY, HSBC, Schroders and The Royal Bank of Canada. 
He co-founded BinumiPro in 2018 – a SaaS video production platform and App that enabled businesses to shoot, moderate and share video – TikTok for the business world. 
Alex is currently Co-Founder of Totem, a self-serve virtual & hybrid events platform and App that enables you to build, run and monitor events from a 10-person webinar to a 10,000+ attendee conference using live data and real-time control. Over 600 events are run every year using the Totem platform. 
In 2024, Informa Group PLC – the leading global events and digital services group acquired Totem creating a strategic partnership that complements Informa’s integrated portfolio of digital event solutions, delivering even better experiences and new innovations to their events worldwide.
