Sam van der Zalm

Sam has been Investor Relations Manager at ASML since 2015 and is responsible for part of the European Investor community.
He studied Mechanical Engineering and Technical Business Administrations and started his career in 1998 at Cap Gemini as a BaaN consultant for ERP migrations. In 2000 he moved to ASML, where he started in a commercial logistics function, with a geographic focus on Chinese and Taiwanese customers. After a number of turbulent years in the industry, he started in 2015 as an Account Support representative for American customers, an internal sales role. This role was expanded and deepened over the years and after 5 years he made a side step in the role of project manager for the factory. However, a fully internal role turned out to be too far removed from what drives him and after a year and a half he returned to a sales role, this time as headquarter Account Manager for Japanese customers. At the end of 2015, he was given the opportunity to switch to Investor Relations to support different type of ASML customers. His focus is on internal processes and reporting together with dedicated investor community focus areas in Europe. Within the ASML Investor Relations team Sam has an ESG focus and makes the bridge with the ESG Sustainability team.
