William Tsang

William is the Chief Risk Officer at Chartwell Capital, overseeing the firm’s overall portfolio risks and executing our risk management policies accordingly. He is a member of the Investment Committee and leads the efforts in data analytics and quantitative research. With over 17 years of experience in asset management and hedge funds, William specializes in portfolio management, risk management, and equity research. His career began as an investment analyst with a deep understanding of the TMT and semiconductor sectors. Subsequently, he assumed the roles of Head of Research and Portfolio Manager, managing the research process, stock selection, and team development. Leveraging his engineering and computer science background, William developed and structured a proprietary valuation and research system that enhances human input and maximizes research analysis efficiency. A native of Hong Kong, William is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the United States.
