CP All and Indorama Ventures win big at IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia

IR Magazine has announced the winners of the IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia 2020.

CP All and Indorama Ventures, both based in Thailand, won three awards each.

CP All took home the trophies for best overall investor relations (large cap), best IR officer (large cap) for Jiraphan Thongtan and best IR in the consumer staples sector. Indorama claimed best overall investor relations (mid-cap), best IR officer (mid-cap) for Vikash Jalan and best IR in the materials sector.

AKR Corporindo and PTT Exploration & Production were close behind with two awards each: AKR Corporindo won best overall investor relations (small cap) and best IR officer (small cap) for Salman Ali, while PTT Exploration & Production collected the prizes for best investor event and best use of multimedia for IR.

The awards are divided into two categories. The awards-by-research categories are chosen by a survey of hundreds of portfolio managers, buy-side analysts and sell-side analysts who cover South East Asia-based companies.

The awards-by-nomination categories allow companies to submit entries about their IR work over the last year. IR Magazine journalists sort through the entries and select the short lists, then a panel of judges picks the winners.

This year, the judging panel featured:
– Tim Human, senior reporter, IR Magazine
– Professor Roy Ling, managing director, RL Capital Management
– Vijay Natarajan, real estate and Reits analyst
– Jeannie Ong, executive IR adviser
– Harold Woo, president, Investor Relations Professionals Association (Singapore).

In 2020, the IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia took place virtually for the first time, featuring video interviews, networking and live competitions.

The event followed the IR Magazine Forum – South East Asia, where speakers discussed topics such as virtual engagement, market volatility and evolving investor expectations on ESG issues.
