People moves: Ardent Health and Helvetia Group announce new IR leaders

NYSE-listed Ardent Health has appointed Dave Styblo as its new senior vice president of IR. Most recently, he worked as an independent IR adviser to healthcare companies, according to a company statement.

Prior to that, he was a senior vice president and equity research analyst at investment bank Jefferies, where he focused on healthcare services and managed care. Styblo, who has more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry, has also worked as an equity research associate at JPMorgan and Bear Stearns.

‘Dave’s deep experience and industry knowledge will be a great asset as we continue to build strong relationships and share the Ardent story across the investment community,’ says the company’s CFO Alfred Lumsdaine. ‘We are excited to welcome him to Ardent as we begin this new chapter as a public company.’

Elsewhere, Helvetia Group, the Switzerland-based international insurance company, has announced that Peter Eliot will become head of IR in November. He currently works as head of insurance sector research at Kepler Cheuvreux and, prior to that, held a similar role at Berenberg, according to a Helvetia media release.

‘It is essential that investors and financial analysts understand our figures and our strategy,’ comments Helvetia group CFO Annelis Lüscher Hämmerli. ‘I am therefore very happy that in Peter Eliot we have gained a proven expert in these areas as head of IR.’

Eliot will take over from Philipp Schüpbach, the current head of IR at Helvetia and IR team member for nine years, who is leaving to pursue an external opportunity.

‘I would like to thank Philipp Schüpbach for his great commitment,’ adds Hämmerli. ‘He has been instrumental in successfully positioning strategic milestones such as the acquisition of Caser and the introduction of IFRS 17/9 in the capital markets.’

Finally, Michael Katz, who has overseen IR while taking on increasingly senior roles at Voya Financial, has been named the company’s new CFO.

Most recently, Katz served as Voya’s executive vice president for finance, strategy and IR. Prior to that, he was senior vice president, head of IR and enterprise financial planning and analytics. In total, Katz has been with Voya and its predecessor firm ING US for 20 years.

‘I am… delighted to continue working with Mike in his new role,’ says Heather Lavallee, CEO of Voya, in a statement. ‘His deep experience in strategy, knowledge of our businesses and focus on execution make him an ideal CFO for the next phase of our growth.

‘Mike played instrumental roles in the key inflection points of Voya’s journey as a public company, including its initial public offering, the sale of Voya’s annuities and life businesses and the strategy to profitably grow our health, wealth and investment management businesses.’
