Research Section: Asian IR achievers

As we head to the end of the year, we approach the final leg of the 2013 round of the IR Magazine Awards. December sees us hold two events in Asia, our Greater China awards in Hong Kong on December 5 and our South East Asia awards in Singapore on December 10.

Research for both events was undertaken in a survey of Asian investors and analysts during Q2 and Q3 this year. A total of 370 responded to the survey – 154 buy side and 216 sell side – with 228 based in Greater China and 142 in South East Asia. There is considerable overlap in the regional coverage of investors and analysts here, which ensures more respondents vote in each region than are based in each region.

In this section we provide a preview of results of this research, indicating which firms have made it onto the most awards nomination short lists and are therefore up for awards at the events. We also compare these companies’ performance against the number of short lists they achieved last year and their current regional ranking.

As well as conducting research for the awards, the survey asks respondents more general questions about investment and IR, and we show here a selection of findings from this research. More in-depth analysis and all of the awards research can be found in the IR Magazine Investor Perception Study – Asia 2013/2014, to be published in December.
