It’s 2014 and awards season is upon us: Golden Globes, Grammys, Oscars and, of course, IR Magazine Awards in Canada and the US, to be held in Toronto on February 5 and New York on March 27, respectively. Research for these events was undertaken in surveys during Q3 and Q4 of 2013. A total of 267 investors and analysts responded to the Canada survey and 700 to the US survey.
In this section we provide a preview of the results of this research, indicating which firms have made it onto the most awards nomination short lists and are therefore up for awards at the events. We also compare these companies’ performance against the number of short lists they appeared on last year and their current regional ranking.
Also in this section we look at the North American region as a whole, listing the best-performing companies of the past three years in terms of making it onto awards short lists, and we look at what the historical likelihood is of these companies going on to win the awards for which they are short-listed.
More in-depth analysis and all of the awards research can be found in the IR Magazine Investor Perception Study – Canada 2014, and the IR Magazine Investor Perception Study – US 2014, both due to be published the day after their respective awards ceremonies.
