Credit Suisse is strengthening its IR team with the appointment of Marc Smart as managing director from January next year.
Reporting to Adam Gishen, group head of investor relations, Smart will lead Credit Suisse’s coverage of the UK sell side and pan-European investor community, splitting his time between London and Zürich.
He joins from Citi, where most recently he was chief operating officer and head of equity advisory for the financial institutions group in EMEA. Previously, he was a managing director at Lehman Brothers (Nomura) and served as a pan-European financials specialist for banks and insurance.
Prior to that, he worked for the former Credit Suisse First Boston from 2003 to 2004, as a senior pan-European sales specialist.
