After five years at crypto exchange Coinbase, Anil Gupta has announced that he is stepping back from his vice president, investor relations role.

Anil Gupta is leaving Coinbase after five years

‘As many of you know, after five-plus years with Coinbase, I’ve decided it’s time for a new adventure – I’ll be taking some time off before taking my next step,’ he writes on LinkedIn.

‘From the direct listing, to 20+ earnings calls, to getting the first crypto company into the S&P 500, it has been an incredible ride. I’ve had the good fortune of building and working with an incredibly talented team and know that I’m leaving things in great hands.’

Thanking the Coinbase IR team as well as Alesia Haas, the firm’s CFO, saying he is ‘beyond grateful’ for the opportunity to have partnered with her over the last several years.

‘Very much looking forward to reconnecting with friends, personal and professional!’ adds the former research analyst, who spent eight years in IR at Facebook when he first moved into investor relations.

Sticking with LinkedIn announcements, Johann Rawlinson also shared a move to SPX Technologies, where he takes up the role of vice president of investor relations. ‘After five exciting years with Hertz, I’ve officially started a new chapter with SPX,’ he writes.

‘I’m deeply grateful for the friendships, mentorship and experiences that shaped me over the years. Hertz has been such a meaningful part of my life and I’ll always appreciate the people who supported me and the lessons I learned along the way.

‘That said, I’m excited for this next step and the opportunity to grow in new ways at SPX Technologies. Looking forward to what’s ahead and ready to dive into this next chapter.’

Another tech firm has also bagged a new IR lead. NYSE-listed engineering and tech company Amentum has named Joseph DeNardi as its new senior vice president and head of investor relations.

Welcoming DeNardi to the company, CFO Travis Johnson says: ‘Joe DeNardi’s deep understanding of the government services and defense sectors, combined with his experience leading investor relations and corporate finance organizations, positions him well to continue advancing Amentum’s value proposition as a global leader in our market.

In the telecoms sector, Louise Rich announced on LinkedIn that she has joined Telecom Plus as the firm’s new head of IR. Noting that people ‘will probably know [Telecom Plus] better as Utility Warehouse,’ she added: ‘It’s a great company and it is going to be a fascinating role’.

A promotion and a retirement were also shared on LinkedIn: Paige Fox has been named investor relations director at Chubb, while Sondra Lennon announced her retirement from Acushnet Company. Starting as a senior accountant in 1998, Lennon moved through various finance roles of increasing seniority at the company, including spending the last six years as vice president, financial planning & analysis, investor relations.

‘After a rewarding 27+ year career with Acushnet Company, I’ve officially retired from my role as VP, FP&A and investor relations,’ she writes. ‘I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to work alongside talented colleagues, help shape financial strategy, mentor and develop teams and engage with the investment community. It’s been a truly meaningful chapter. Looking forward to staying connected.’
