Aztec Minerals appoints vice president of IR

Aztec Minerals has appointed Neil MacRae as vice president of IR, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s shareholder and investor relations program.

MacRae started the role on September 11 and reports into both Bradford Cooke, the founder and chairman of Aztec Minerals, and Joseph Wilkins, the company’s president and chief executive. Aztec Minerals completed an IPO in May and is now listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.

MacRae has 23 years of experience in investor relations, commodities trading and corporate development within the mining industry. He most recently served as the director of investor relations at Santacruz Silver Mining, having joined that company in 2012. He has also spent time in IR roles at NovaGold Resources, Farallon Mining and First Majestic Silver.

‘I am thrilled to welcome Neil MacRae to the Aztec management team during this important start-up phase of the company,’ says Cooke in a press release. ‘Neil’s depth and breadth of knowledge of the mining markets should help enhance our market performance as we grow the company through the exploration and discovery of valuable mineral deposits.’

In addition to his new role, MacRae joined the board of CIRI’s British Columbia chapter earlier this year, where he sits on the membership committee.
