Meira appoints Tarbuck as new chair

The Middle East Investor Relations Association (Meira) has announced that Andrew Tarbuck, a partner at law firm Hogan Lovells, has been appointed as chair.

Tarbuck, who has been Meira vice chair since 2016, succeeds Alex MacDonald-Vitale, who has led the association since 2015. MacDonald-Vitale helped achieve key milestones, including collaborative agreements with Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul (stock exchange), Boursa Kuwait, Beirut Stock Exchange, Amman Stock Exchange and Muscat Securities Market, as well as the launch of the Meira Saudi chapter.

Tarbuck will be responsible for guiding Meira, now in its 10th year, in its work with IR professionals and market participants to encourage transparency, disclosure and communication with the local and international investment community. He represents clients throughout the Middle East, the US, Asia and Europe on capital markets transactions, public and private M&A, restructurings, flotations and secondary equity fundraisings.

‘I am delighted to succeed Alex as the chair of Meira and to continue to work toward improving IR standards in the region,’ he says. ‘In the last 10 years, Meira has seen a significant membership growth, and a greater focus on IR in the region as capital markets develop.

‘I look forward to being a part of the association’s future development and to continue to foster IR best practice across the Middle East.’
