Danaher’s IR team were the joint biggest winners at the recent IR Magazine Awards – US 2018, taking home trophies in three categories.
IR Magazine caught up with Matthew Gugino, vice president of investor relations at Danaher, on the red carpet at the awards to ask about the growing role of IR in corporate governance and the secret to his team’s success.
Gugino says the amount of time he’s dedicated to corporate governance and social responsibility has increased in recent years. ‘We’ve done some things internally around CSR reporting, working closely with our corporate secretary who really spearheads the program and has done a fantastic job for us,’ Gugino tells IR Magazine.
When asked about the secret to his success, Gugino says it comes down to treating the buy side and sell side as customers, while focusing on ‘transparency and consistency with the program.’
