30 IR stars in 30 days: Julie Dewey of Wright Medical Group

IR Magazine has a long history of honoring those men, women and companies around the world that excel at investor relations. In celebration of 30 years of IR Magazine, we selected 30 IR stars that have shone particularly brightly over the past three decades and will be posting one profile each day for 30 days, giving you the gift of an IR advent calendar.

Wright Medical Group has won 10 IR Magazine Awards during Julie Dewey’s (née Tracy) tenure, including several wins for her personally as best investor relations officer (small to mid-cap). She sums up her approach to IR with the three Ps: proactive, prepared and passionate. ‘These three pillars are the foundation of how I’ve always tried to approach investor relations,’ she says. ‘Your company, the financial community and other constituencies deserve an informed and effective IR communicator who is fully versed and able to engage on issues that are relevant to the company he or she represents.’

To highlight Dewey’s commitment to excellence, she recently completed NIRI’s IRC credential and encourages all IROs to do the same. ‘The credential is so important to advancing the practice of investor relations and the professional competence and stature of IR professionals,’ she adds.

Stay tuned for more IR stars this week and pick up a copy of the winter issue of IR Magazine to see the full list.
