Fortis has been a major supporter of IR Magazine’s women in IR campaign and when we caught up with Stephanie Amaimo, the company’s vice president of investor relations, she talked about what the campaign has meant to her and how Fortis’ board and management team walks the walk on diversity.
‘I found that speaking about women in IR and gathering together helps to highlight the opportunity we have to put women out in front and empower them,’ she said.
Amaimo explained that Fortis’ board has 42 percent female representation, one third of the company’s management team is female and 60 percent of the staff at its headquarters are women. ‘For me, it’s inspiring and a good way to advocate for the future we want to see in terms of equal pay, equal representation, diversity and inclusion,’ Amaimo added.
