ESR Cayman poaches CapitaLand IRO

ESR Cayman, the Hong Kong-based real estate platform, has appointed Rui Hua Chang as its group managing director of capital markets and investor relations.

In Chang’s new role, she oversees the company IR program and capital markets activities, reporting directly to the company’s co-founders and co-CEOs, Jeffrey Shen and Stuart Gibson, as well as the group CFO Cho Wee Peng. Chang joined the company in September.

ESR Cayman listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong late last month, in what the FT described as the second-largest IPO for the stock exchange this year. It raised $1.6 bn.

Chang has worked in investor relations since she joined CapitaLand in 2013. She took on the role of IRO there in 2015, following the departure of Harold Woo. In that same year she won the best investor relations officer award at the IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia.

On Chang’s appointment, Shen says: ‘As ESR continues to rapidly expand its business across Asia-Pacific, capital markets and investor relations will play an even more integral part of our growth strategy. We are delighted to welcome Rui Hua to ESR. Her deep expertise in both capital markets and investor relations will be a valuable addition to the ESR team.’
