Nominees announced for the IR Magazine Awards – US 2020

We’ve postponed our awards ceremony to a later date due to the situation surrounding Covid-19. The IR Magazine Awards – US will now be held on September 16, 2020.

With just one month to go until the IR Magazine Awards – US 2020, the short lists have been announced. The awards ceremony will gather the best and brightest of the IR community on March 25 at Cipriani 25 Broadway.

General Electric and Microsoft lead the pack with five nominations each. General Electric is nominated for best overall investor relations (large cap), best IR by a senior management team (large cap), most progress in IR and best IR in the industrials sector. The company’s vice president of investor communications, Steve Winoker, is also in the running for the best investor relations officer (large cap) award.

Microsoft also has nods for the best overall investor relations (large cap) and best IR by a senior management team (large cap) awards, as well as nominations for best financial reporting, best use of technology for IR and best IR in the technology sector.

Neither General Electric nor Microsoft picked up awards in 2019, though both companies have won in the past.

JPMorgan Chase & Co, which won three awards last year, is nominated in four categories this year: best overall investor relations (large cap), best IR by a senior management team (large cap), best financial reporting and best IR in the financials sector.

Danaher, Domino’s Pizza and Etsy have three nominations each, with the latter company receiving all of its nominations in the awards-by-nomination categories.

This year 22 awards will be presented based on an independent survey of the investment community, and five awards will be presented based on nominations submitted either by companies themselves or by their peers and service providers. Nominations for these categories – best ESG reporting, best investor event, best IR during a corporate transaction, best IR website and rising star – were reviewed by the IR Magazine editorial staff to produce the short lists.

From there, our judging panel will select the winners. This year’s judges are:
• Ben Ashwell, editor, IR Magazine
• Gary LaBranche, president and CEO, NIRI
• Robbie Miles, ESG analyst, Allianz Global Advisors
• Carol Murray-Negron, president, Equanimity
