ANTA Sports Products and Central China Real Estate claim most nominations for Greater China Awards 2021

ANTA Sports Products and Central China Real Estate are the front-runners for the IR Magazine Awards – Greater China 2021.

The sports brand has secured seven nominations for awards including best overall investor relations (large cap), best investor relations officer (large cap) for Suki Wong and best annual report (large cap).

Central China Real Estate is close behind with six nominations, including best overall investor relations (mid-cap), best investor relations officer (mid-cap) for Hazel Chan and best IR in the financials (including real estate) sector.

Next in the running come Link Asset Management and Suncity Group Holdings, with five nominations apiece, followed by several companies that appear on four short lists: China Resources Beer (Holdings) Co, China Telecom, Far East Consortium International, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, Kunlun Energy Company, Sinic Holdings (Group) Co and Xtep International Holdings.

The awards are split into two groups. The awards-by-research categories are based on a survey of investors and sell-side analysts who cover companies in the region. Respondents to the survey vote for their favorite companies and individuals in three areas: best overall IR, best IR officer and best IR in sector.

The awards-by-nomination categories allow companies to submit entries across a range of subjects, from best annual report to best crisis management and a rising star award for newcomers to IR. In this section, the winners are selected by a panel of expert judges. This year’s panel features:

  • Paul Milon, ESG specialist for Asia Pacific, BNP Paribas Asset Management
  • Garnet Roach, senior reporter, IR Magazine
  • William Tsang, head of research, Chartwell Capital
  • Simon Weston, senior fund manager, AXA Investment Managers
  • Gabriel Wilson-Otto, director of sustainable investing, Fidelity International

The virtual awards event will take place on Thursday, December 9 following the IR Magazine Forum – Greater China 2021, where panels will tackle subjects such as evolving investor sentiment, ESG reporting and making the most of management time.
